CONGRATS YAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSS!!!

click on pic to expand...

Well the season actuall ended this Sunday
Weather was great. Alternate field worked out.
Fans and family came out to cheer the boys on.
Both teams, Yahoos and Hebrews came to play.

Yahoos jump out to quick 1st inning lead, as Ralph just can't get comfortable with
the unfamiliar mound. Yahoos walk the bases loaded, and end up with a 1st inning 5-0
lead. Hebrews, won't quit, and hold Yahoos down. In fact make a great inning ending play at the plate.
With score now 6-0 Yahoos, Hebrews chip away and get to within 6-3.
Fast forward, score 8-3 Yahoos, 2 outs, and , single, single, single, bases loaded,
and then double from hobbled Hoss, Morris Sutton, and Hebrews right back in it at 8-6.

Alas, 6th inning, and Yahoos want to lock this trophy up, score 4 more, and take the
CUP, (how about a nice name for the championship trophy) , final score 12-6, and take the World Series
2 games to 0.

Yahoos award MVP trophey to Capt Clem.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and safe summer.

FINAL GAMES RECAP

A beautiful day , great close, and meaningful games to end the regular season.

Firepower needing to win 2, and get lots of help,
played a classic game with Hebrews,

bottom of 7th , 2 outs , Firepower up 4-3
Alan Horowitz.....delivers clutch hit, ties score 4-4,
extra innings........bottom of 9th,
Ralph Hanon launches a shot that is still going

In other 1st game
Macabees, take under manned Yahoos , not sure 7-2, or 4-2
After 1st games, we know that Firepower is out, but which team gets bye

Hey its a nice day, so lets play the second game.
Firepower with nothing to gain, take a 10-5 lead agst Yahoos
only to fall short 12-11.

Now lets see what Macabees do with Hebrews. Hebrews down 7-2,( Mitchell thinks its in the bag,)
rally to win 11-10.

Amazing, Hebrews so close to losing 2, and potentially out of playoffs, win 2 close games,
and re-claim 1st place and a bye for 1st round.

Week 2

Hebrews seem to have sluggers up and down the lineup. This week Elliot Levy home run, triple, 5 rbi's.
Stephan Betesh , double,single, 2 runs scored , 2 rbi's. Final Hebrews 12 Macabees 3 . Although , 2 time defending champ, Macabees, are 0-2,
both games, they were missing key player at shortstop. With calm , steady Captain Malka, Macabees should be just fine.

Firepower and Yahoos had back and forth game, till Yahoos take a 9-4 lead in 5th. Firepower get 2 back in 6th, 9-6.
Bottom of 7th, Firepower has 2nd and 3rd, 1 run in already, looking to tie, Elie Hamway up, clutch shot , looks like tie score,
but.........oh no, ball hits runner. After that Yahoos, led by Captain Clem, (is he a better hitter than pitcher?), just pour it on,
final 19-7. Ikey Shammah was smoking the ball all day, including 3 run homer, Ike Levy led things off, seemed like every inning,
Abe (please don't move) Sasson played steady ss, and got clutch hits all day.Icing on the cake, Isaac Saka grand slam in 9th inning.

STANDINGS
HEBREWS 2-0
YAHOOS 1-1
FIREPOWER 1-1
MACABEES 0-2

Week 1 Transactions

David Chrem , with injured thumb, is on D/L.
Rafe Kassin has been called up to replace Chrem on Macabees roster.
David, get better soon.

Eddie Adjmi, sent to Chinese League for Cash.
Have a safe trip Eddie.
Replacement player, to be announced.

Week 1

Results from Week 1

Hebrews 6 Yahoos 2

AJ Gindi leads off and gets first hit of season.
Abie, welcome back Dweck, double, triple, and scores 2 runs.
Morris Sutton, called up from that other league, 3 RBI's.
Captain Ralph Hanan, converted outfielder, gets first win in our league.

Firepower 9 Macabees 7

This game was almost over in the top of the 1st.
Macabees with 2nd and 3rd , 1 out, and 1 run already in, threatened to blow the game wide open.
Firepower settled down, and only that one run scored.
As game proceeded, lets just say, a lot of winter rust showed.
Top of the 9th proved very exciting though, as Macabees try to come back from a 4-9 deficit.
They come up just short, leaving tying men on base. Final 9-7
